Today is a big day - 24 weeks! If the baby were born now, there is a good chance that s/he would make it. I want it to stay in for MUCH longer, but it's comforting to know that if something were to happen, s/he could survive.
I had my 24 week OB appointment on Monday. Everything looks good
except the fact that I gained WAY too much weight last month! The doctor said I should be gaining 2-3 lbs. max each month and I gained 7! Oops. Well, Christmas, New Year's, plus a growth spurt by the baby are my excuses. I actually look pretty much the same all over, except for my belly, which has really grown!
A couple of nights ago, Mr. C rolled over and put his hand on my bum. After a few minutes he said, "Is the baby moving? I can't feel anything." I said, "That's my bottom, not my belly!!!" It was SO funny...we couldn't stop laughing. I guess my body is really changing if he can't tell the difference between my bum and my tum!
The only negative so far is that I started getting charlie horses this past week. If you've never had one, be glad! They are excrutiatingly painful leg cramps where your calf tenses up and becomes rock hard. It only lasts 20-30 seconds, but it hurts SOOOO bad. My calves are sore for days afterward like I've done a crazy workout. The doctor said to increase my fluids and potassium, so hopefully that will help. Other than that, I feel great!
